Jackie Robinson was the first African American to break the color barrier in baseball. He reserved the jersey "42" for all baseball players to come so that no one in the major league could have the same number on their jersey. He was able to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Forgetting about the discrimination and hateful comments he received, Jackie still improved his batting averages every game and tried his best. Jackie was and is a baseball legend today. People across the country learn about him and look up to him as a baseball hero. He made it possible for anyone to play baseball in the major league. ("Jackie Robinson Biography" pages 1-3).
